If you order a sign and nobody looks at it, what is the point of displaying the sign? There are some design elements that can help draw attention to a sign, such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.signs.com\/blog\/design-cosiderations-for-window-signs-signage-101\/\">colors<\/a>, artwork, and borders.<\/p><p>Borders can draw attention to the information that is inside. Many different kinds of borders can be added to a design. Decorative borders add style to the design, and can be added directly to the design file and uploaded to the website. Some borders are a thin line around the whole design. The following steps are similar to those above, but you are creating one more layer so that the border doesn\u2019t go all the way to the edge of the sign.<\/p>\n<\/div><h2 class=\"bde-heading-15335-124 bde-heading\">\nThin Borders\n<\/h2><div class=\"bde-rich-text-15335-125 bde-rich-text decoration-none breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p>Follow steps 2-7 above, but make the color of the square the color of border you are wanting.\u00a0*If the color of the border is the same as the text, you will not be able to see your text when you click on Send Backward, but it is still important to do step 7.<\/p>\n<\/div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"bde-image2-15335-126 bde-image2\" src=\"https:\/\/signs-blog.signs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/design-tool-9.png\" alt=\"design tool border color\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/signs-blog.signs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/design-tool-9.png 998w, https:\/\/signs-blog.signs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/design-tool-9-300x147.png 300w, https:\/\/signs-blog.signs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/design-tool-9-768x377.png 768w, https:\/\/signs-blog.signs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/design-tool-9-560x275.png 560w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 998px) 100vw, 998px\"><div class=\"bde-rich-text-15335-127 bde-rich-text decoration-none breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p>Add an additional square to the design and make it a little smaller than the square added above.
